Many people ask how we became involved in protection dogs as a husband and wife team.  At a young age, we both learned to appreciate the abilities dogs are capable of and intrigued by their desires to please.

Ashley Lybarger

Ashley was raised around animals her entire life.  In her teenage years she and her sisters began to raise “Guide Dogs for the Blind”.  In a short time she became captivated that an 8 week old puppy could transpire to become the vision for a person without.  She instilled obedience and social skills that would give these puppies the opportunity of a lifetime to be service dogs.  Ashley found it rewarding to give countless hours to an animal that would eventually dedicate his/her life to a person in need.  That was the foundation that taught Ashley how amazing it was to see a dog work to assist people in real life situations.

Nathan Lybarger

Nathan grew up in a law enforcement family, and as usual for such family they had a German Shepard dog in the home.  Nathan took to this dog, and the team became inseparable.  In the second grade Nathan witnessed a police dog demonstration at a local children’s fair.  He was taken by the fact the dog was just like his at home, yet able to do all of the tasks to assist the police.  That was just the beginning.  Nathan pursued his new found goal from that point forward to become a K9 handler.  He now has many years dedicated to training working dogs in all aspects from protection, sports, to police service dogs.  It only made sense with our marriage that dogs would be a large part of our life.  We now train, trial, and work dogs every moment possible.  We have found that our love and dedication to these working dogs has given us the ability to breed a working dog superior to all others.  Those of you fortunate enough to work one of our puppies will see that a part of our hearts leave with each one.
